I Gave Away My Sunshine

I gave away my sunshine
And now I cannot see
The joy in life that once was mine
Or the warmth she shone on me.

I gave away my sunshine
Then saw thunderclouds roll in
They rained and poured but could not fill
My emptiness within.

Now I live here in the dark
It's black as night all day
No more colors in my life
Just shades of black and gray.

My world is cold and frozen now
Yes, I guess I'm on my own
The only thing I seem to do
Is lay around and moan

Now that she's so far away
These clouds just linger on
Sunshine memories fill my days
Still can't fathom she is gone

Crying, thinking, all day long
Is all that I can do
Lonely tears from a broken heart
I guess my life is through.
