The Dark is Afraid of Me

I used to be afraid of the dark,

But now the dark is afraid of me,

Which probably makes you wonder

Just how in the world that could be.

The answer is really quite simple,

I have a light that shines from inside,

Which blinds the eyes of the creatures of night

That the darkness seeks to hide.

Now the dark has run from the light,

Farther than my eyes can see.

That is why I like to say

That the dark is afraid of me!
